I was reading an editorial about the McCain campaign and the robocalls they're sending out about Obama's association with Bill Ayers.

For the robocalls to be effective, the Republicans would need Bill Ayers to plant bombs today and not when Barack Obama was 8 years old. They need Ayers to plant bombs in key states right now with stickers on them

I am all for breaking things down into simplistic terms when speaking to an eight-year-old. But I don't think we're supposed to lie to them.
I believe it was George Costanza who said "It's not a lie if you believe it."

You know, I have met Bill Ayers, and he is kind of a genius (ie, legendary teacher), and a kind of upper class twit (ie, he never spent time with the underclass, but once he heard about them he decided to become an anarchist, cause that would help. And he still doesn't know he did anything wrong). But he is so much less scary than Palin to me. After all, think about how many lives he has ruined, vs. how many she might.

Hey, does that mean I endorse terrorism, too? Sweet.

I think there was nothing more damaging than being a white, upper-class college student during the sixties. If you have even a sliver of humanity (and I'm sure there were many who didn't) you ended up a complete flake at best and at worst you bombed stuff.
