What are you supposed to do when a person makes you understand he wants you to be his girlfirend but you're not interested in him THAT way ? What can you tell him and not hurt him, especially if you want to stay his friend

Ohh, man, been there, done that! What a predicament you're in. You're right - telling the truth is the best way, but be tactful.

You can say that you're flattered but you treasure your friendship with him and would prefer it that way. Or something.

Yes, I have to agree with the others and say the truth is the only way to go. Otherwise, I'd worry that he'd be pushy if you said something like you're not ready for a relationship or it's not a good time in your life (I've been there.) I guess just flat, "I don't like you in that way. I like you as a friend." should work if nothing else.

Thank you. I just said what i felt and although he was a bit upset at the beginning everything was fine. Things now have to settle, but I hope everything will be just like before..
