Dear Yuletide Writer,

I have no idea what I’m doing but I am extremely excited. You are interested in the same small fandom! You are going to write something for it! Wow.

If you want any further information, read on.

if you're one of the ~3 people on my friends list who still comes on here, just ignore this... )

I am so excited about your Tennis RPF requests, you don't even know! :DDD

I'm curious, what makes you like Genie/Maria as a pairing? I hadn't thought about them together before, so thanks for giving me that mental image! :D They're both gorgeous, of course... or is it something about their personalities? They do both come across as very clear-eyed and focused, if that makes sense.

Eeeeee. <333

And I am excited that there seem to be other people interested in WTA RPF!

Honestly, I'm not even sure. I just randomly decided I wanted it to exist, and now I'm writing something really stupid. I guess it's partly Bouchard getting compared to Sharapova a lot this year (like in terms of marketing), and both of them having that "not here to make friends" attitude - they seem like they have more trouble with relationships with rivals than a lot of other players on tour, which seems like something a story could have fun with.

Huh, I just replied to this and your journal marked me as spam. I'm spam!! xD I think it was me posting a link to a captioned version of Maria's photo that did it.

Anyway, all I said was that I really like that line of comparison between Maria & Genie - I think it could be really interesting. And I love all of the pictures from the Singapore draw - the WTA selfie game is STRONG! I can't decide which selfie is my favorite - Aga's roguish one with Caro, or Serena's one with Caro that she labelled "The blonde and the boob." They're all wonderful. <3

Huh, that's weird. I haven't really used LJ in years so I don't know why it would do that.

And yeah, all the photos are great. I think the WTA really offers a lot of inspiration for fic/slashing purposes and can only hope it catches on at some point...

out of curiosity (cause I haven't even decided on what I want/offer this year) are you open to some Nancy Drew game pseudo-crack? Your prompt made me think of something (that I'll probably write anyways) but I thought I'd ask for....y'know....treating. :)

I am 100% open to this idea and already intrigued. "Pseudo-crack" sounds a lot like what I was thinking.

I would really like to hear more about what you enjoy about Trixie Belden, and what you'd like to see in fic, if you're interested in sharing.

Any AUs you would really like to see? Interests in minor characters or characters who weren't nominated? Other pairings? Any "missing scenes" from certain books that would catch your interest, or maybe a scene from a book revisited?

Sorry if this comes across as pushy or invasive. I just rarely see interest in this fandom outside of Jixemitri, so I'm super curious.

Hm, I think a lot of what I like is how completely silly a lot of it is. One of my favourite books is The Mystery off Glen Road, where they basically invent the mystery themselves by jumping to insane conclusions (and now that I think about it, most of my favourite books outside of Trixie Belden involve the characters jumping to insane conclusions). And it's always fun when someone has to practice some kind of deception - usually rather incompetently, like Trixie trying to pretend she's madly in love with Ben. Trixie Belden was much more incompetent than Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys and I found her a lot more entertaining. (Although I should note that I like when Trixie still ends up being right in the end, or at least less wrong than everyone else ( ... )

Ayrt

Thanks for sharing! Yeah, I always liked that Trixie had a more fun and dynamic tone than Nancy Drew or the Hardys.

Can I hear more about your thoughts on Regan, if that's okay?

oh, sorry, I totally missed this!

I guess it seemed like Regan was always on Trixie's case for...not doing her duty, or whatever, but Regan was equally bad about that and always got away with a lot more than Trixie did. Regan seemed to be constantly getting mad about everything, and then going around refusing to drive cars for no particular reason whilst criticising Trixie about whatever. In some of the books I was kinda confused as to whether Regan was doing his job at all, since he got mad whenever the kids didn't take care of the horses themselves. Like, sorry, having red hair is not a good excuse for being a huge dick.

I mostly just thought Regan getting angry with Trixie for skiving off was hugely unfair. Trixie seemed a lot more mature than Regan sometimes.
