I HAVE BEEN BUSY. <--------------- that is an excuse for my general awfulness at being a LJ friend and being woefully behind on just about everything. ( stuff about working in a North Oxford GP's.... )
1. c) But only because my budget is limited as a ~poor student and I just don't buy art in general.
2. Doesn't apply. my two cents: tbh the prices that are charged for art on the internet make me ragey. The market price for internet comissions and originals probably about 10-20 (more if the person is really skilled and high in demand), but man, don't get me started. (How pros do it: hourly rate starting at 60€ + extra for the original depending on size + extra for rights.) I lot of people sell art through etsy, if you browse there you should get a good impression. You won't have to create a website if you use their service!
I'm in uni at the moment (medicine), so this was kind of a work experience kind of thing, we do a rotation at different places, so I've done a pulmonary one and a general practice one now, eventually this will include gynaecology, cardiac, surgery, paediatrics etc. :) Noseyness is a good thing! (certainly this is what I tell myself, frequently) :)))
Your answer to one is precisely why I did the poll, I know I wouldn't buy art either being flat broke and stupidly in debt and what not.
I did not know about etsy, I shall defnitely check that out! Thanks for the feedback about pricing, bb, certainly very helpful, yeah I figured the middle rangle as well Thanks again xx
1) no but like Salty_catfish, it's because I don't really buy art. I've only ever bought one painting and that was for my hubby, of a local scene. However, I do know people who do buy art and would like your works (I as you know happen to like your work too
( ... )
Etsy might be a good idea, definitely. Prices of course will be vastly variable, some of my work I think is rather good and others errrr not so much. Middly range seems a good idea. I shall be having a good old root around on Etsy and check out what everyone else is up to.
Lyme disease is usually caught via ticks (water and rats is more TB, cholera, and the plague), it's incredibly rare over here ( and most places apart from Lyme County somewhere in Connecticut) so yeah grisly but EXCITING. Wow I must seem really weird to people. :/ But it is incredible amounts of fun, in the most sensitive and respectful way :/
I second the etsy recommendation! And I tragically have to go with c) as well, for the flat-broke poor-student reason. But if I make a bunch of surprise!money, you can bet my answer will change :)
Etsy seems like a good option! No worries, I wouldn't buy art either, broke too, and studying medicine doesn't exactly do good things to your debt so....
I like the etsy suggestion! I think that's a good way to get around having to design your own website if you're pressed for time/money.
And I would for real by your 'Pretty in Pink' painting. Or that desert one you made for Lass! I'm a poor student too but, well. I'm the kind of poor student that sometimes eats nothing but rice for two weeks so she can afford things like theatre tickets and art. XDD Of course, what I can afford and what I think they're worth are different things, but (assuming I've got the currency conversion right :P) I think around 20-40 should be your price range, but I guess it all depends on how much work you've put into them and how much you think that's worth.
Etsy seems to be a good idea, though I think I might design my own website anyways because it seems like a fun thing to do.
<33 I think that kind of price range is best too, this kind of thing is so difficult to decide.
I certainly think my work is super fun! Some of my friends are not so sure- especially when I start talking baout weeping leg ulcers and infected chicken pox.:DD
Late comment but I wanted to say.. yes! I would buy your work. I feel privileged to have your work on my wall. :)
How you actually go about it? No idea. How much to pay? Also, no idea. I think putting a price on art work is difficult. We are going through the very thing with my husband's photography at the moment. He has an exhibition coming up and he hopes to sell some stuff. But what cost? We've decided - enough to cover costs, but not so high people can't afford it.
Auctioning might be a way to go also. Put a piece up and see what peeps will pay..
I love having original art in my house. Keep me informed as to what you decide to do. xx
Auctioning is an interesting idea, it would certainly get a clearer picture of how much people are prepared to pay. The balance has to be just right for it work well, especially since my f-list is probably the only place from which I'm going to generate any sales. AGH THIS IS HARD.
Good luck to your husband! An exhibition sounds wonderful!

You're from Germany, how awesome!
I did a GCSE in German and then promptly forgot most of it. I know that defeats the point, it makes me sad.
