First SPN fic!

The first part was written in a comment in late April to twoskeletons when there was still speculation about what would happen to Castiel in 6.20, whether he would fall and become human etc, and the latter part was written after the finale so the timeline is wacko, let's just say it takes place in late season 5 when Cas was becoming

Oh, Castiel losing language as he gets more human, that's painful and makes sense, and I love the process of how he gets it back, and the ending, the power of being able to create a new word, and his desire to fix things. He's himself, yet not, and feeling guilt but can't seem to identify it as such. i really like how language is bound up with his identity. This is gorgeous.

That's the things about Godstiel and (S6 Cas in general)for me, he's trying to fix the things he broke but he can't seem to figure out how and when he thinks he's got it, it just makes it worse.

I love - I LOVE - the linking of loss and gain, the links between Castiel as his grace fades and Castiel as he becomes more than he was. PEACE AND FREEDOM AND REST BLKJHBEHKDBJHSDBKJH yeah, exactly, because he does still have that thread of humanity pulling inside him and he couldn't be happy as a human and couldn't be comfortable as an angel but now he can CREATE HIS OWN IDENTITY and omfg the restoration of his family, that's everything I waaaaant.

THIS. Really it's the ultimate story of a guy choosing to become more than the sum of his parts. Oh, Cas I really hope they do something spectacular with him next season and not just cop out and kill him. That would be worst thing they could possibly do with a build up like this.
