strange nursing behavior

this seems to happen more at night, but also happens during the day- dd will nurse fine for a few minutes, then start moving all around, and then crying like she is uncomfortable. i'll try to burp her (sometimes she'll burp, sometimes not), and put her back. sometimes she latches on right away and will nurse frantically for a few moments, and then ( Read more... )

Hmm, June does this when she has to poop. Nursing stimulates the digestive track and some babies find it uncomfortable. What I do is let her wiggle, help her pump her legs, and try to keep her on the boob as long as she will take it. If she's on it for a few minutes she'll usually calm down and a few minutes after that, she poops.

Ha ha, I'm gonna have so much ammo when she starts dating.

*grins* Well, you've got up to seven more chances to see them, but hopefully it won't take that many.

ok so we went to the pedi, and she said it sounds like reflux. she said to watch it, because reflux tends to peak around 3-4 months, so we'd need to treat it if it gets worse. but she said it's mild enough to leave alone for now (since it doesn't seem to bother her all of the time or disrupt her nursing too much), unless my daughter's behavior changes.
