The searing pain in her left arm gave Bellatrix more pleasure than anything she'd felt in ages. She allowed herself a few moments to ride out the heatwave, writhing on the sofa much in the way the tattoo on her arm crawled and quivered. There existed no greater feeling than this, no greater symphony of pain and pleasure. Her Master wanted her, and she would always answer His call.

As quickly as it took a person to blink, the dark-haired, dark-eyed Death Eater appeared on her hands and knees at the feet of her Lord and Savior. She tried her best, really she did, to observe the proper decorum, but it was too difficult a task to keep her eyes on the floor and away from His Glory.

"Master," she breathed.

Voldemort looked down upon her prone form from his seat. He smiled, pleased as ever to see Bellatrix' proper worship at his feet. He felt Nagini slithering along the back of his chair and moving along his forearm, and affectionately stroked the snake's nose.

"My dear, dear Bellatrix," he said with a nod to acknowledge her presence. "It has been far too long since you have visited. I wish to hear what has kept you occupied since I saw you last."

She moved to stand then, fluidly bringing herself to her full ( though not so impressive ) height. The half-cocked smile on her face could not be helped, for it was a by-product of being summoned by her Lord. Still, she had nothing of note to report to him.

"I have been minding my family," she answered. "And of course spreading Your Great Word, Master. Just last week I had oh so much fun playing with a right sprite of a thing who refused to see the Truth. Marvelous. I am, my Lord, so thrilled You have called upon me this morning."

He nodded. "You have always been among my most faithful, dear Bellatrix," he said, his voice smooth and silky, belying the savage nature behind it. "That is why I have called you. There is a mystery that needs to be solved, and I wish to trust you with it ( ... )
