After leaving the Headmaster's office, Draco made his way down to the dungeons. His trunk was likely already there, having been dropped off by the house elves, but he doubted anyone would have seen it. He certainly hoped not; he wanted this entrance to take them completely by surprise.
It was high time that he got to be the centre of attention again, and for that, Draco was willing to concede that coming back to school probably was best. He'd thought that he'd be even higher praised among the Death Eaters, but somehow that had simply never happened. Draco missed being surrounded by people that he was actually superior to, and being in control. Apparently there had been some problems with Slytherin House under Slughorn's rule - people actually getting into trouble, because the man was an incompetent kiss arse.
Enough was enough. Snape was back, he was back, and somewhere along the line Draco had actually bought into the idea of this being a very good idea. No longer would Slytherin have to bow before an incompetent old man. It was their turn.
The common room door opened quickly when he impatiently snapped the password, and stepped into the room with his head held high and his new school robes crisp and perfect.
"I'm back," he announced to the room at large. Then, with a small smile that said he expected them to do exactly the opposite: "As you were."
