It's all here somewhere. Time is all it takes.

Lucius sighed, rubbed his eyes. But I've only got so much time...

He looked at the clock. It wasn't much past noon, and he had quite a ways to go. He sighed again, stretched his arms, and became aware of a tight feeling in his stomach. He shook his head ruefully. Of course he'd be hungry; he'd not eaten breakfast and it was already time for lunch. Perhaps he'd ring the house-elf for some sandwiches...

A knock at the door seized his attention. "Come in?"

...And there was his son. After several weeks, Draco had come home again. Lucius smiled broadly, beckoning him in. "Well, Draco, this is a pleasant surprise. Come in, sit down, I was just about to ring for the elf."

Feeling like a weight was being lifted off his chest, Draco entered the room and moved to one of the chairs opposite his father's desk. "Father," he said with a grin. "That would be much appreciated. I'm starving." He stretched his legs out in front of him, the grin falling off his face. "I... haven't really been eating all that much," he said quietly, "but something about being home brings the appetite back. Maybe it was flying."

Narcissa had spent the better part of the morning in the conservatory, tending to her roses and re-potting several plants. It was nice, pleasant work and it took her mind off of earlier conversations and happenstances. She intended to distribute some of the large plants around the manor, but that could wait until later.

She sent one of the house elves away to prepare lunch, then headed for the study to join Lucius... and immediately caught her breath on hearing another, beloved voice.

"Draco." She pushed the door aside, swept into the room and over to her son. "Finally." She resisted the urge to pull him into her arms and stroke his hair, and instead settled for: "Oh, but you must be starving."

Draco quickly stood from the chair and wrapped his arms around his mother, embracing her a moment, wanting to hug her after what he'd seen of that other mother... Mrs. Farmer.

A moment later, he dropped his arms, biting his lip as he remembered himself. "That... Yes, I am. I've had a long morning of lessons, and then I flew here. I'm afraid breakfast has worn a bit thin."
