Bottle feeding is faster partially because they don't have to wait for a letdown; the flow is consistently "on". It takes considerably less work.

Hope he progresses enough to give you a break! It is nice to have the option now and then.

Bottle feeding is indeed a lot faster which is nice when you don't have as much time to feed baby as when you're nursing him. It sounds like you made quite a bit of progress!
