Oh, cool. Maybe Rodney can figure out a work-around on ZPMs now... (since I can't see Atlantis embracing this. OK, maybe Atlantis, but not the IOA.)

And Oh, John. Even when you're a woman you're still a Clueless Wonder, aren't you?

Wow, the Ancients were rather ruthless and lacking compassion, weren't they? Quite plausible though. And cool concept with the gestalt.

Absolutely fascinating. The Gestalt is, and will be, and they come in and tasted it, and I can't help but think that they will change the Gestalt, too, by the simple fact of being there.

The way that they've all learned and dealt with their change, (or not) is fantastic. Ronon maybe wanting to stay a woman, isn't so surprising, but Sheppard coming to realize that his sexuality is more fluid than he imagined, that's pure gold.

The Gestalt is a little like the quote from John 14:2 In My Father's house there are many mansions. Kings James Bible version It is vast and can absorb nearly anything. Four minds for such a short period are just atom in its universe. And the Gestalt would crave new information, outside minds; I suspect that would be why the Hermeans offered to bring the team into it. The quote is apt also because the Gestalt is in a way the Hermeans religion; they revere and serve it.

We labored over the freaking Gestalt. It's part of what delayed this part for so long, figuring out what it was, what it did, what it meant.

Well, IMO, you did an absolutely amazing job of it... the detail and description of something as amorphous and unknowable (?) as the construct (?) of the Gestalt was the very best Science Fiction/Fantasy... if you all submitted this to a publisher? I would totally buy it as a book...

This was soooo cool! The gestalt -- The Gestalt -- reminded me vaguely of a book called Adiamante by L. E. Modesitt, Jr. Have you ever read it? If not it's a book I think you would like. It has the same kind of overall themes as the Hermeans.

(and the hermeans are hermaphordites, I snicker in linguistic glee)

Oh. My. God.

Wow.

I was so afraid they were gonna get to the end and realize that this tech was nothing they could use and I trust Rodney now to find some sort of application for it.

I can't wait to read the final bit.
