Introduction

I'm not much good at introducing myself.  Summing myself up in a few pithy sentences and tying it all with a pretty bow.  I'll have to settle for straightforward.  I'm 32 (almost 33).  I fancy myself a writer, though I haven't been writing as much as I'd like lately.  (Or, well, ever.)  Currently I'm a stay-at-home mom of an almost 10 month old boy ( Read more... )

Thanks for commenting, and I'm looking forward to getting to know you better too! I'm starting to finally get a LJ community of friends going, which is a good thing.

Dave let me have a sleep-in time in bed this morning too. It's so nice to curl up by myself! (The co-sleeping position that gives Callum access to my boobs just isn't my ideal sleeping position!)

I love co-sleeping most of the time. I just wish we had a bigger bed. Tom gets room to stretch out (because he's a sound sleeper and takes the room), Tai gets room to stretch out (though he takes up less because he's still small) and I get the sliver of bed that's left. And it is hard to sleep comfortably while allowing boob-access.

Bad mother story of the day - I had Tai laying on the outside of the bed while we nursed on one side and I fell asleep while he was nursing, he did too... and fell on the floor. Poor little dude. He wasn't hurt, but freaked out.

Oh, poor guy! Well, as long as he wasn't hurt, it's a Safe Learning Experience, right? (We decided many months ago to switch to sleeping on just a mattress on the floor, so that Callum couldn't hurt himself too much falling off of it. He did go off headfirst a couple of times, and didn't much like the experience, so then he learned to carefully go down feet first. Which is a good skill for him to have!)

I know what you mean about having to be more of an adult after you become a parent. I feel like there have been some major areas I've slacked off in my life that I have to be more conscientious about as a parent. Like say, dental care. I've been so bad about that and now I have three mouths to take care of. Anyway, I get your point.

Thanks for writing the introduction. I lived in SF for about 10 years and miss it so much. Is Holly Park in the City? I never experienced living there with kids.

Oh, don't even bring up dental care. It's been *mumble mumble* since last time I went to the dentist. I don't want to play that sort of luck-game with Tai's mouth.

I'm glad you got my point about the adulthood thing. It's easier to get by feeling than by explaining. When I was in high school I thought I'd feel like an adult when I was in my late 20's, but I'm not feeling it yet.

Holly Park is in Bernal Heights, just a few blocks away from my house. It's small, and if you weren't in Bernal, you'd probably hit a bigger park.
