McCain picked a woman for a vice president?

I SO did not see that coming.

I saw it coming. But, I'm pretty cynical when you get right down to it and can recognize that it would be the kind of 'maverick-y' move that he would assume would attract the Hillary supporters.

Yeah, the whole thing sort of has a "well, I can be progressive, too!" feel, almost like...

I don't know what like.

He realizes that this is about the only chance he has, so he is "all in" to use gambling terms.

That's pretty much the feeling I was trying to describe above.

Yeah...an anti gay marriage, anti choice woman with little experience.

And he waited until after Obama chose Biden to break the news.

I'm sensing pandering to the bitter Hillary supporters on the basis of "Look, we picked a woman! Obama didn't!"

But maybe that's just my cynicism talking...

That's what I was thinking when I heard more about her, as far as.. how she seems like your typical extreme right-winged white elderly male republican in a cute suit and nice hair.

I'm drowning in my cynicism, too.

Yeah, total pandering. He only met her once 6 months ago and only had one conversation with her before offering her the VP spot.

Ugh, she annoys me lol. She's also under investigation in Alaska for trying to get her state trooper bro in law fired.

She truly makes my skin crawl. I'm hoping that choosing her totally put the nail in the Republican coffin, so to speak.

I wonder how many Hillary Clinton supporters will now vote for McCain instead of Obama because they believe Clinton should have been running for president, or at the very least vice president.

I wouldn't put it past some people - throwing a tantrum and not wanting anyone other than their first choice EVUR being in office and thusly throwing it to the other side.

Or something.

I should really be sleeping.
