"It's ironic," Matthew observes, after they've gotten Carl safely away. "That's the second student of mine who's chosen to use suicide by cop as an escape."
"We all have, at one point or another." MacLeod is far enough into his scotch to be waxing philosophical.
"I can only hope that this one doesn't decide to take it up as a lifestyle choice."
That prompts a suspicious glare from the Highlander. "Who's the other one?"
"He's been calling himself Cory Raines for the past hundred years or so." Matthew watches with interest as MacLeod chokes on his drink. "I take it you've met him?"
"Met him?" MacLeod splutters. "I spent six months digging that menace out of graves all across the Midwest! You taught him?"
"Guilty as charged," Matthew admits.
