31 Days of Fic: Twenty-Eight

Sep 12, 2007 06:47

It's seven in the morning and I still haven't slept.  Please forgive any incoherency on my part.

I'm going to go ahead and insert the 'I'm bitching' warning here.  I'm also going to say right now that the following rant has nothing to do with any of you wonderful livejournal people.  This is entirely directed at one specific reviewer at ff.net

Dammit those two are just too cute for words! &hearts

... as much as I love Remus/Sirius, maybe you could write something about James and Lily. It would tie in nicely with James realizing just how much he's fallen for her.

As far as the jerk ff.net reviewer, you're probably better off ignoring him/her. I'm of the firm opinion that a good majority of people on ff.net are of a lower class of readers/reviewers than on LJ and some of the other fanfiction sites (snob though that may make me) and therefore, don't deserve to be recognized. On the other hand, it might make you feel better to tell him/her off. You don't need reviewers like that anyway.

(Someone on ff.net accused me of plagiarism once and I responded angrily and told her she was full of crap. I never heard from her again, but it made me feel much better and I never regretted letting her know what I thought about her accusation, especially as she had no basis for it.)

I'll quit babbling now. Hope you finally got some sleep.

&hearts is the "&" sign plus the word "hearts" together as one word. (it took me forever to figure that out)

Uh, hon . . . I think you've got "cuteness" down with these two . . . I can deal with James & Lily appearing, but Hogsmeade might be even better . . . or an evening together in the Room of Requirement or the Shrieking Shack with just them, ahem, "enjoying" each other (i.e. something more than just kissing). . . do you get my drift?

As for your reviewer, I'd be the one to ignore, but I can see you wanting to let that individual know, in some manner, to pay attention to EVERY word that's written, including the author's notes. There's always going to be one out there that doesn't like something. It's just the way the world is . . . which is why "venting" was created.

"The resultant chaos would have allowed him and Sirius to make it out the door if Professor McGonagall hadn't been waiting for them. She grabs each of them by a shoulder and marches them up to her office, at which point the lecturing begins and James stops paying attention. Sirius had stopped paying attention the instant she grabbed his shoulder. "

That was good.

My heart melted. You are an amazing writer, seriously. As for the sort-fic basher i think you should try to explain what you were trying to do. They have no idea (most likely)what it takes to write something that short that is effective, or how hard it can be to write a fic in general. I think ignorance is the problem. I loved the short one though, and i don't feel guilty reading it because it doesn't take that much time out of studying :D. Keep up the good work and don't let people like them get to you. Feel free to vent on us. Were here to help
