Highlander/Anita Blake crossover

Jul 31, 2007 23:31

In addition to the many, many other things I'm trying to write, there is the Highlander/Anita Blake crossover in which Methos meets Edward - because the idea of Death meeting Death is just really fucking cool, and I really want to read this story, but no-one's written it, so I'm going to do it myself.  (I may need to lay off the caffeine.)

Here's ( Read more... )

edward, crossover, hl/ab:vh, methos, no dominion, fic

Er, hi. I found your journal on a rec from starfire. I've had a look at some of your stories, enjoy them mightily, and would like to read more at leisure - would it be alright if I add you to my Friends List?

That was a most excellent read ... so good that I had to go away and re-read Obsidian Butterfly after getting through this. Great stuff!

I'm not an Anita Blake fan (I prefer Merry Gentry) but I am a big crossover and Methos fan. So far I've only read the first part of this, and I'm really liking it so far. You've caught Methos's (and attitude) voice really well.

Will be catching up on the rest when I can! And consider yourself friended.

Thank you! ::friends you back::

I haven't read the Merry Gentry books -- are they more like older AB:VH or the newer ones?

Hi! Wonderful first chapter (I've read the seconnd one first, so sorry for commenting in backrow). I loved the idea that the four Horsemen in the Anitaverse knew and decimated Vampires, and that Methos aka death once was as deadly to them as Edward is now. nice twist! I am really looking forward to see more of this story! Loved the element of the garotte in the collar too - both as a way to show how dangerous Methos really is, and to show how good a professional Edward is. Excellent! Only nitpick: I do not think that Methos would really tell Edward how he can be killed permanently. that part does not ring true to me; I think he would justv say "Only by another immortal", and leave the beheading part out. He is too paranoid, in my feeling, to give that information away willingly to someone who *can* use it to kill him. Especially so shortly after Revelations, when he would assume that the Watchers, Cassandra, and a bunch of other people are after his head... more tan usually, that is ( ... )

You may have a point -- but Methos did need some way to explain the sword he was carrying, and a garrote made out of razor-wire, neither of which are standard issue even for professionals. The partial explanation gives a reason for those anomalies; also, it satisfies Edward's curiosity, since he really is the kind of person who would just keep trying different methods of execution until one of them worked, and the presence of a sword is somewhat suggestive.

I'm v. glad you're enjoying it -- thanks so much for commenting!

Methos and Edward in one story -- what's not to like? :) Looking forward to catching up with the rest.
