Chapter three of Light Goes Down

Here's chapter 3 of the 1930's Spike/Dru fic.  It's behind the cut to spare my f-list.

Chapter Three: The Grey Light at Dusk

“Have you seen the well-to-do
Up on Lenox Avenue?
On that famous thoroughfare
With their noses in the air?
High hats and coloured collars,
White spats and fifteen dollars,
Spending every dime
For a wonderful time!”

I love it when Darla plans!

Though Spike has always struck me as the most intuitive of the four of them, Darla has always struck me as the most intelligent, especially as she doesn't often let emotion get in the way.

The first half shows Spike with a bit of polish.
Darla's POV is a nice shift, her analysis of Spike and Angelus' technique makes sense to me.

He was tangled in sheets and blankets and Drusilla

And that pretty much is the best way to wake up!
I like the way the story is progressing. It’s getting more interesting with every chapter.

Lovely!

Spike . . . *sigh* . . . more to read . . yay! (Now, if I could only get my eyes to stay focused . . . darn eye doctors and their drops!)

this is fantastic, and considering my comment is coming about 4 to 5 months late to the game, I hope you take my praise well, even if you decide not to write any further.

You are an excellent writer, and I'm pleased to have read a piece of work on S/D (especially with a bit of Darla) that was so eloquent and captured the style, personalities, and speech patterns of the characters so well.

The next chapter of this is currently locked on the hard drive of my (dead) old computer -- but I have plans to resuscitate it after work calms down a bit.

I'm very glad you enjoyed this; thanks so much for the lovely feedback!
