I can take no credit for the acronym.

I have a VERY DISTANT cousin who is a member of the Earth Liberation Front -- which is actually listed on the FBI's terror watch list, though they tend more towards things like releasing lab animals than they do towards kidnapping roomsful of rich people. (I think that ELF was the number one domestic terror threat in the US in 2000)
