Jack had business to take care of, like always. He dropped of a manifest to Cookie then made his way to the Marketplace. Picking up some sushi and a rare coffee, he sat in the open air and ate a peaceful lunch, watching the crowd mill around. Phedre had been relieved to get his message. She hoped that the information she'd gotten from Aaron Echolls was the sort of thing that Jack was looking for, and that her assignment would be over. It was growing increasingly distasteful, especially after her encounter with his son.

Wearing a short red dress and large, dark sunglasses, she slid into the chair across from him.

"Hey, gorgeous," he smiled, rising and leaning over the table to kiss her cheek.

She smiled, and tipped her sunglasses down to look over them at him. "Hey yourself. You're looking good, Jack."

"I'm feeling good. Goes hand in hand," he replied, settling back into his chair. "You have something for me yet?"

I flop down heavily in the chair across from him, unasked, dropping my apron and baseball cap down on the table, but thankfully I changed outta my uniform in the employee bathroom.

God, I fucking hate my job.

"Don't call me baby," I snort, rolling my eyes and slumping further down in my seat, "Man, you're so fucking sweet when you wanna be."

It was not a doctor's idea of fun. If anyone found delight and real joy in a murder, be they a coroner, doctor, investigator, or anyone, they'd be deserving of a quick slap across the mouth from one Lisa Cuddy. There was nothing pretty or glamorous about blood and death, but it was part of the job. A part that she knew well how to handle.

On this particular day, she'd left the hospital for lunch. She could have done without the two curious glances tossed her way by men who 'swore they'd seen her someplace before,' but an efficient smile brushed that off and she kept walking. There was too much to do now for those things to distract her.
