"trainers" is a catch all for any occupation / activity that involves the training of/in something --- could be physical trainers, animal trainers, athletic trainers (who do more medical-type work and rehab), personal trainers etc. Maybe they're office trainers? Etc -- we're really flexible.

Alternate Societies is any society-structure that is different than the canon that you're working with. So it could be anything -- patriarchal, matriarchal, military, a BDSM-society, monarchy, feudalism, clan --- whatever you can think of or create. It just needs to be different than what is canon for your fandom.
