Yesterday I forced myself through a nasty slump again. I learned that writing/drawing/whatevering is like digging for gems in a gargantuan mountain of dirt. You get lots of dirt, and that sucks, but sometimes you hit a gem and you go "well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to dig some more ( Read more... )

I really like the face on the bottom left, and I also like how your noses actually have structure. Lots of people just draw some dots or a shitty bump for a nose (like me aha)

Noses are tough, but the more I do it and get the hang of it, the more fun I have!

The most recent HUGE FACE TROUBLE I've been having is when I began to get more careful with structure...All my faces, even cute little girl ones, came out looking manly and shit (Oh god this got embarrassing and I felt like I accidentally peed on people when I did that) the alternative was sloppy, unstructured little girls. What to do???

I found out a while ago that making a big deal of things I didn't like to draw, especially that thing under the nose (How I used to hate that thing, I never knew what to do with it!) became a part of my style.

Yeahhh, I have a problem with too much definition whenever I try to draw lips. They always end up looking like crazy exaggerations and not fitting in at all. SOMEDAY I'll force myself to learn, but later. I haven't drawn in almost a month sdgsdg

I'm the same way with some things; I could never make knees look good, so I drew them allllll the time, and now they're one of my favourite things to draw, of course. I've used up so much paper by just drawing knees and legs everywhere.
