Of everything we swore we never would forget
We tried to bleed the sickness
But we drained our hearts instead
We are, we are the dead'>

Three days he'd been locked in there under constant guard. The main reason Alex hadn't tried to escape again was simply that these lesser versions of the people he knew back home were actually quite entertaining. That and he was grossly outnumbered. They weren't nearly as trained as the X-Men he was a part of in his world, but instead of making them easier to fight this made them more dangerous for the simple reason that most of them couldn't control their powers. It made them unpredictable, which gave them the advantage for now until he learned more about them.

Which was another reason for not bothering to escape yet and instead engaging in conversation with them.

But there were lulls where he found himself alone while whoever was supposed to guard him waited outside, and Alex hated sitting around like he was worthless. Keeping himself occupied with a purpose had been a habit since Erik took him, Alex never wanting to look as if he wasn't pulling his weight because that would mean Erik might decide he wasn't worth keeping around anymore. This was the reason he constantly trained, constantly worked and pushed his body to its limits simply to have something to do to pass the time.

At the moment it was one handed push-ups. It wasn't that he was favoring his injured arm, actually quite the opposite, because after a few reps he switched to the injured arm. Pausing to brace himself above the floor for a moment, getting used to his own weight against the wounded shoulder, he finally began doing the one handed push-ups again, pushing through the pain and ignoring it as adrenaline passed through his veins.
