So, it's a bit of a slow day, waiting to get stuff back from people. I pretty much am either playing angband, or researching Cardiff. Which..is soothing. It's turning out easier than I had feared; I qualify for a Stafford loan, and I'll get private loans to cover the rest (and go into debt for the rest of my life, just like everyone else!

Charity shops (note the title *g*) are a great source of clothes and crockery, etc. And there are lots of cheap-ish clothes stores that have permanent sales, like New Look. (The latter caters for real shaped people, too!)

(You know, eventually it's going to occur to me that I'm actually going to have to go to classes and learn stuff. But not today ;) )
Further linguistic fun in looking for places to dance -- mostly because what you all call a ceilidh is fairly different from a ceilidh over here, at least in Full-of-Irish-People Philadelphia. And you do contra dance all *wrong*! (And men aren't really allowed to wear skirts while doing it, which makes me a sad panda. But I'll natter on about differences in a longer post...)
And Torchwood is doing its job well -- not just an x-ray to verify my humanity, but I have to be fingerprinted and photographed too. If I pretend it'll someday end up on Jack Harkness' desk, that makes it much less annoying.
