Buffy and Spike had gone, leaving Jo, Avery and Dawn to head to Wes' house. He had a pretty good idea as to where they were going, and they had a pretty good idea too, which meant that between the three of them, they made decent time. He had long since put his hands in his pockets, using his thumb to twist the rings on his middle fingers ( ... )

Dawn was still thinking over her sister's strange turnaround that had occurred. She'd been a lot less angry when she realized that Jo was A) Not Jackson, B)a girl, and C) Not Jackson. She could understand that-though thinking about Jackson still hurt.

So many things that had happened since coming to this town still hurt. She wondered if she should just leave? Go back to Rome, maybe. Or to New York when Jo left.

When they reached the address her sister had given them, she studied the house with her head tilted, then smiled. It was a Wes kind of place. Stepping up next to Jo as the blonde knocked, she glanced to Avery and offered him another smile. "I'm sure Wes will know what to do." Please, Wes, know what to do.

Finally, he had some time on his own. Well, Wesley frowned as he checked his watch. He had actually very little time left on his own before Max would wake up again. How in the bloody hell had that happened? He was supposed to have a whole hour to himself, what with Cordelia off to go-- whatever Cordelia had gone to do. Probably shopping, Wesley hadn't asked ( ... )

Jo tried to give Avery and Dawn a smile. After all, they were just being nice, just trying to help. Just then the door opened, revealing the man she assumed to be Wesley. He glanced at her and Avery, and then began to talk Dawn, obviously happy to see a familiar face in the bunch.

She took in the man's appearance. He seemed to be exhausted, like he had just run a marathon or three. He also seemed to be wary of Avery and her. So he didn't trust people he didn't know---he could join the club. Oh, and he was British. How very James Bond of him.

After Wesley offered them tea, Jo found herself speaking up because, hey, when did she not talk? "Thank you Mr...Wesley. Um, tea would be great but actually we're...I'm here to talk to you about something important. In private, if that's all right." She had nothing against Loverboy or Dawn, but spilling her guts to one person was going to be hard enough. At the idea of telling this man her story, she felt her pulse quicken. Ugh, this sucked.

Dawn's eyes shifted to Jo after Wes told her to 'spit it out', tilting her head. Her eyes widened at Jo's next words. "Looks like you're going to get a preview." Dawn set her tea down quickly, jumping up-she remembered what happened the last time this had occurred. Earlier that day, actually.

Moving over, she reached her new friend just after she fell, and checked the back of her head for blood, then looked at Wes, trying to talk over the screaming. "Something like this happened earlier-I think she's having visions or something..." She bit her lip. Now Wes would know why she had brought Jo to him-because he and Cordy were the only ones she knew of who might know how to help Jo.

"What do we do?"

Afterward, Wesley figured it had been the years he'd spend catching Cordelia in similar situations. He was out of his chair right after he felt the shift in the air. Research had learned him that visions like these were magically induced. Not magically *gained* but laced with magic. Which made it easier for people who were inclined or talented with magic themselves to feel the slight change before the visions would arrive ( ... )

Jo didn't feel herself being moved, didn't feel Wesley's hand in her own. She existed only in her mind, with this deformed man.

The man yelled above her own screaming, each one of his booming words piercing her mind. He said, "I can't leave until you tell them the truth! I can't let this haunt them their entire life! I don't want my wife, my children to think that...I'm not a killer!"

Jo's voice got softened, her body growing tired, "Just please...go. ...You're not real... ...You're not here... Go. Please, leave me alone..."

He continued to yell, "I'm not a killer! They set me up! The fire...there were 20 people in that building. I was just a victim! The person who set the whole thing up is still out there! You have to do something! Families, my family...they need to know!"Jo suddenly sat up, screaming with everything she had, "YOU'RE NOT REAL ( ... )

Candles, candles, candles, candles... he was looking around for something to burn in proxy - who didn't have emergency candles around? They were probably hidden... He would have to think about that later. Wesley gave him his orders, though, and he obeyed. He ducked out of the room, looking for the bathroom.

It didn't take him long, though there was an audible shuffling of pills and bottles and linoleum, followed by a "Gah!". Still, as he made his way around, he poured the glass of water, opening the tap wide. All in all it took him a minute... he'd cleaned up his dropped bottle fiasco, despite the fact that it was a 'bad situation'.

Returning, he knelt down next to Wes and Jo, offering Wes the painkillers and such, guessing she probably wouldn't be up to taking them herself.

"Do you know what's going on? It looks like magic, but..."

Dawn looked over as Cordy answered and gave a wave when Wes mentioned her. She then returned her attention to Jo and sat beside her.

"Jo...Jo, wait. I know this is all kind of overwhelming-because, yeah, we're throwing a lot of people and things at you at once." And Wes suddenly calling her a visionary didn't help too much. "But I really think you should stay for a little while. Maybe just relax, talk to Cordelia, find out more about it all. She can-I think-" She glanced to Cordy for confirmation, then back to Jo, "Help you control them a little better. And she might even know ways of helping you out with them in general." She gave the blonde a small smile.

"Plus, you've got me on your side." Sure, she had an issue with pain-and pills-but that counted for something, right?

Wait. What was all this? Dawn and some strange girl in her house talking about visions? Now the former of that wasn't too odd, but the latter was. New girls were showing up in L.A., Cleveland, Hope Falls... pretty much anywhere that Buffy and her group went. There were many many more slayers in the world, what with the releasing of all that potential. It wasn't even that unusual for said girls to be prophetic. But visions? Like hers ( ... )

This wasn't-- going as planned. Then again, when did anything ever go as planned. Or rather, how *could* you plan for something like this. Wesley could literally feel Jo pulling away more and more, no doubt wanting to run away from it all. From those images which were thrown into her head unwanted. Not that Cordelia had *wanted* the visions, she'd just gotten them without any say so. Just like Jo, except for the fact that Cordelia had learned to cope with them ( ... )

It was like everyone and everything was so far away. Jo could barely hear Dawn's words, or see the look on her face. Her mind was screaming at her, telling her how this couldn't be real, how none of this could be real. Ghosts, visions...things stories were made of. Not real. Not real.

And then the visionary---Cordelia?---was standing in front of her, telling her how important it was to have people to help her, to talk to her.

Suddenly, Jo found herself responding to Cordelia. It was weird, her mouth was moving and words were coming out all on their own. Her brain was too confused to handle any thoughts at the moment. So she let her mouth do the talking. "They're not gonna go away...you said they won't go away...How can you help me?" She didn't say it accusingly, or even in an angry tone. She just spoke with utter confusion.

Then Wesley told her everything happened for a reason. She just stared at him with wide eyes, speaking softly in a confused voice again, "This is going to ruin my life...where is the reason in that?"
