Xander looked at his watch as he pulled up to the airport. "Man, why did Giles ask ME to come pick the girl up? Mr. Always Late?" He frowned, peering through the windshield to make sure he was in the right lane for arrivals. It wasn't like it was THAT big of an airport. He looked down at the picture of Catherine that was attached to her file.

He really wasn't supposed to bring the file OUT of the mansion, but he was late as it was. He would just remember to keep it out of sight and slip it back into Giles' office before the man noticed. Easy, peasy...

Xander directed the car through and spotted the girl he was looking for. Like she could be missed. He wondered if planes accidentally were landing this way, thinking the colors were part of the landing strip or something. He slowed down the car and rolled down the passenger window.

"Are you Catherine?" he asked, glancing down at the picture then back at her. "I'm Xander Harris. I think a Giles - er, Mr. Rupert Giles talked to you?"

He wasn't too late, at least not in Catherine's opinion. She had pulled out a Russian music magazine and was starting to read it when someone pulled up and started talking to her. She looked up and saw a young man, a nice looking young man, speaking English to her and her trying to put together what it was that he said.

She did catch her name, though. That was something, right?

"Yes, Catherine?" She pointed to herself. Her accent came out think and rough, sounding more like a Bond villain than anyone who was comfortable at all speaking English. While she understood it more or less, the only things she could really say were things that she really wasn't supposed to say to, well, most people, apparently.

"Ah...you pick me up?" she asked, pushing herself off of the ground where she had been sitting. She was ready to get out of here. She knew that much for sure. "Car, we go?"

"Yes, yeah, I'm here to pick you up." He grinned, putting the car in park. He got out after popping open the trunk and grabbed one of her suitcases. He struggled with it a little. He knew she could easily pick it up with one finger and put it in the trunk, but nevertheless, Xander was still a gentleman - sort of.

"Gnuh," he muttered as he picked it up and put it in the trunk. "Let's get that other suitcase in here and we can go." He gave her a wide grin. It had to be scary for a lot of these young Slayers, just finding out who exactly they were and why they were who they were. Xander saw his job as just treating these girls like any other, until they stopped him from doing so.

Even that didn't really help. He still liked trying to do some heavy lifting for any other Slayers, as much as he could offer for them.

When he struggled with her suitcase, she picked up the other one easily and dumped it into the trunk of the car. She wasn't going to point out that she could pick up the other one easier than he was doing. She knew that a man sort of saw his ego through his strength, and pointing out that she was now way stronger than him right now would hurt that ego.

Once everything was in the car, she headed over to the passenger side of the car and waited for Xander to unlock it. She sort of rocked back and forth on her feet, feeling like a bundle of nervous energy. She was pretty sure she could pinpoint the day that she became a Slayer, because it was the same day she started feeling so full of energy that she thought she would burst. She used to be so calm before, so it wasn't hard for her to figure out at all.
