"Little Foot should be bloody grateful for a chance to nibble on me," Spike muttered more to himself. Saying nothing else, he followed Illyria and watched as she opened up the portal. When she told him what he had to do, he eyed her skeptically. Trust that her "power" wouldn't snap shut at an inopportune time and snatch him up? Riiight.

Shielding his eyes from the sudden surge of light, Spike was suddenly less than a hundred percent behind this plan. Who knew what kind of portal Illyria just opened? Who knew if they could actually be brought back? Jokes and all of that aside, Spike didn't trust Illyria's power even back before they were forced to take it away to stop her from going nuclear.

"Oh, right, you'll be just behind me," he scoffed. Still, he turned to look at the portal resolutely. Willow and Tara were in trouble, so even if he didn't trust Illyria to fix this right off the bat, the least he could do was try for their sake, at least. And who knows? If ol' Shiva got this right, maybe he'll give her a cookie ( ... )

Despite the seriousness of the situation, Spike couldn't help rolling his eyes as all three women took his mention of elves quite literally. As he was about to ask if any of them had ever heard of Tolkien or sarcasm, a glance at the arrow ricocheting off Illyria made him swallow his words ( ... )

Okay, all this running in the arms of a vampire - not that this really made much of a difference, the whole *vampire* thing - was kinda making her of the sea sick. Could be the fact that she was just almost *burned* alive and stuff. This whole witch hunting attitude the villagers had shown them had deeply unsettled Willow ( ... )

Tara blushed a little when she realized Spike was using a figure of speech when he mentioned "elves." Well, if vampires and demons existed, why not unicorns and elves? They were real enough according to the pain on her face. It only stung and compared to what she had almost gone through with the fire and being tied to a stake, it really was nothing.

She looked ahead of them as Illyria actually picked up speed when she adjusted Tara into a baby carry than a fireman's carry. She heard Willow panic a little in Spike's arms, making the blond witch crane her neck to see her lover. "It's okay," she tried to call to her over the noise of the wind and branches cracking underneath their footing.

"Is the d-deeper well up ahead?" Tara asked, feeling a heavy burden of energy on her chest. Things were shifting in the air. She just hoped they could make it back before those arrows - elves or not - took over and really hurt one of them.

Illyria spared a moment to glance back over her shoulder, both to offer a quick nod to Spike and check their back trail. All references to Elves and sarcasm were lost on the former Godking, but it was likely better that way. "I am ready. When we get close, the witches will need to walk on their own. Spike, you will need to occupy The Gatekeeper while I open the portal ( ... )

"We ain't stopping," Spike told Willow resolutely. "Sorry, Red, but unless you want to go around holding hands with your bird in the afterlife, the smartest thing to do is to just hold onto me until we get you back."

Spike shot Illyria a look when she mentioned the Gatekeeper. "Gatekeeper? What bloody Gatekee-" He made a face, then, as he remembered. "Drogyn. Fantastic. He'll be none too keen to see you out and about."

He did indeed keep an eye out for Drogyn, but not because Illyria told him to. It was common sense, really. While he was sorry that Drogyn was dead, he couldn't deny that the bloke was a little high-strung. "How exactly am I supposed to 'occupy' him?" Spike panted irritably. "Play a round of 20 Questions with him? Oh wait, I can't, he might bludgeon me if I so much as ask how he's doing!"

Near frantic, was the best way to describe Willow. Usually the calm and collected one - bar Giles of course - Willow found it kinda really disturbing to feel this way. But she'd seen Tara die once before and she couldn't deal with the fact that she might again. Even though Tara insisted that she was fine and it was only - even Willow could see that - a minor wound ( ... )

Tara tried to pay closer attention to what was going on among them rather than the aches and pains of her own body as well we worrying about Willow. It seemed they knew exactly where they were going, which was a very good thing. She turned her neck enough to see the barely visible cave that Illyria pointed out as the Well ( ... )

Sorry for the delay. I'm thinking this needs to be wrapped up soon. Please. godking_no_more May 25 2009, 12:43:24 UTC
"I do not even know if Drogyn is- was- the Keeper in this time. This is a primitive age. Perhaps before his time." Illyria shrugged at Spike - an odd action from the Godking. It almost looked human. Almost. "I trust you can keep him occupied for a minute or two. Hit him if you must ( ... )

I'm all for wrapping it up soonish. can_we_rest_now May 26 2009, 04:55:18 UTC
Spike uttered a snort of agreement as Willow proclaimed that now wasn't the time for a game of Dungeons and Dragons. More likely than not, a meeting with Drogyn would lead to more questions than any of them - especially the Gatekeeper - had the patience or time for. He was willing to dash by Drogyn, do his best to knock him out with a one-two punch, and be done with it before anyone could stand in their way. "You're playing my song," he muttered when Illyria suggested that very thing ( ... )
