deancasbigbang 2010: polar night: art
These are the graphics I made for my second claim in the deancasbigbang big bang aka the Twilight Fusion of awesome.
Fic: Polar Night

Pairing(s) Dean/Castiel, Highlight to read: Sam/Madison, Gabriel/Anna
Fic Warnings: Twilight fusion. Takes place after an AU S2 finale where Sam doesn't die and Dean doesn't sell his soul. Also takes place in an AR, where angels, demons, and werewolves are vastly different. Dramatically altered episodes: ‘Heart’ and ‘All Hell Breaks Loose Parts 1 and 2’
Summary: Months after the Yellow-Eyed Demon and Jake opened the Devil's Gate in Wyoming, Sam and Dean are tracking a series of vampire-related abductions across the western coast of the United States. Their hunt brings them to Forks, Washington: site of the latest disappearances. While there, Sam sees the one that got away, Dean meets a man whose entire family is hiding something, and they learn that vampires are the least of their problems.

Ok, so this won't make sense unless you've seen the ubiquitous Twilight cover. phate_phoenix does an awesome job ridiculing integrating that canon, so I tried to get that across.

The only scene illustration I did, of Cas revealing his wings.

Instead of directly replicating scenes, I did a wallpaper each for Sam, Cas and Dean. This is (obviously) Sam's.

Cas' is the plainest, as at the beginning of the fic we know the least about him.

When phate_phoenix sent me the fic, she also sent me a bunch of pdf files that included information about the different creatures in the fic. I used that text to create pages from John's hunting journal. Here is the info on Demons.

On the vampire page I use a drawing of vampire teeth found through Google image search.

The werewolf paws were actually drawn by phate_phoenix and included in the intial pdf.

I had a ton of fun adapting with some of the Twilight promotional art. Technically this poster was from the second Twilight movie, but I really wanted to do a beefcake Sam poster. (Even though the pic is actually of Jared.)

I also did the second and third book covers, using fake titles and aspects from the fic. New Moon = Ancient Noon.
