Yes, sad fat is depressing. Ms. McFatty Fatpants is well aware of the depressive nature of sad fat. I want all of my fat to be happy, jolly fat that wiggles and jiggles in all the best and most enticing ways. LOL!

Happy fat curves and dances. Happy fat bounces enticingly.

...I'm getting adipose issues. The little Adipose creatures from that Dr. Who episode were so cute and squishable, I'd be happy to host them as long as they came out and danced with me every now and then. :)

haha, I love old books. I prefer medical or psych books myself though. I found a brilliant Better Homes and Gardens 'Your Baby and You' book that I gave a friend of mine when she was pregnant, my favorite part was when it said you might want to cut down on smoking, but you don't need to stop altogether. I think it was from the mid sixties, but the sheet with the copyright was ripped out.

Check the ISBN, maybe?

If I still had the book I would, I gave it to a friend who was pregnant. I thought she'd get a kick out of it.

I keep threatening my best friend that as soon as she gets pregnant she's getting Baby, Make Me Breakfast and Baby, Mix Me A Drink.

Then it tells us that fat people sleep too much, and we shouldn't take naps. Those fat, piggy people, with their naps and their milk! We hates them, we does, my carbonaceous-refusing precious!

Ironically, there are now studies that show that a LACK of sleep can cause or exacerbate obesity.

(By the way, I found you through metaquotes, and now that I've read your whole post, I think I'm in love with you...or at least your writing style. =D)

The community sounds fun. You would definitely have fun - I have a shelf of old diet/medical books, and about four large paper boxes of old magazines (maybe more - it's a sickness).

Before we tore it down, I basically decorated the old farmhouse with room-appropriate magazine ads from the '40s and '50s. I have a collection going of the "beer is patriotic - buy it and drink it" set of ads (I can't remember the exact wording), and my favourite ad in the kitchen was the "Food in cans! Isn't life awesome" ad put out by the National Canning Council in the late '40s.

I love old ads.

Steal away! They make great decorations, especially if you theme them, or can get a bunch by the same company.

How funny about the rosettes - I'm making some! Started some last night with some discount vellat (see what I did there?) ribbon as a base/back and some bias, and bias with vellat (see? see?) insert. I've got them planned as 12th Night presents. I'd ask how you do yours, but, heh - you do sell them.

I have a friend with hypothyroidism who INSISTS that you can tell who'll have it (and that just about everyone she knows has it, coincidentally) by their round faces and what she calls "Buddha bellies." She is forever diagnosing me with it, too and I don't have it. I love her to death and love sharing things with her, but I do *not* want to share her disease, nor mine with her.
