lingerie and stockings...evil_fionnNovember 14 2008, 13:48:39 UTC
I feel better when I match all the way down to my skin as well... When I left my first husband, I had three bras and six pair of underwear to my name. (Not matching) With my first paycheck I got the next week, I wanted to treat myself to something. I couldn't afford a whole outfit, but I _could_ afford underwear. :-) And glittery nail polish to match. Plus, at that point, it was, like, a necessity. :-) It became my "Lipstick index". I felt so good after that that it became a once every two week purchase... until last year, when my loving husband decided that I needed to get organized, so he went through and paired it all up. We discovered that at that point, I had enough matching sets that I could go for 43 days without ever having to wash clothes. (He was pretty impressed.) And thigh highs... sigh. I feel the same way about panty hose and tights that you feel about blue jeans... Plus, it gives me an excuse to buy matching garters.... And oh gee, today is payday... :-)

Ok, you need to put a rating on your comments.... I'm at work and reading this while half-way through the first cup of coffee. I am now wiiiide awake and raring to go, and not for work :)!!!!! Evil Evil woman!
So, let's see, you can make it through Lilies without needing to do a load of undies, right? :) :) :).
I took Monday off to get the long weekend since Veteran's day was on a Tuesday (we're on a Federal installation, so we get all the federal holidays. It adds up to an extra week of paid vacation a year; I'm not complaining. :)
I have the same skin troubles, I use Lily Organics almond milk soap (utterly unscented) and kukui oil on my skin, which has the amazing ability to be dry enough to flake and burn and oily enough to shine at the same time (moisturizing helps both)! My friends look at me and say "You know, my [drugstore acne cleanser] would clear that splotchy redness right up, you just need to take better care of your skin!" and I cringe. Winter time means Dr Hauschka rose day cream as well, it's the heaviest cream I've found. I wish I could find a decent sunscreen that doesn't make me blister, but I'm stuck with staying indoors.
I like Villainess' line of soap; while I don't have rosacea, I do have allergy-induced eczema that comes and goes and is particularly bad in winter when my skin gets drier. I can't use 99% of commercial soaps because the scents are either an instant migraine trigger, or my face falls off with sneezing and histaminic shenanigans.
It's wonderful stuff! I particularly like "Embargo," which looks like an Elizabethan scent (and conveniently lacks musk). She has a soap with no scent whatsoever, too-- "Ennui." "Ginger Snapped" is particularly yummy.
I find the counter argument to the cheap acne cleanser is to list all the harmful ingredients in it and explain on a microscopic level, exactly what it does to skin.
Stupid people really should not be offering unsolicited advice. Grrrr.
I mostly get people who blurt out "wow! You sure have red skin!". As if I hadn't noticed.
