Head banging?

I am reading Good Nights by Dr. Jay Gordon. I just got done with the part with quotes from sleep-training books about how babies will cry so much they may vomit and how you should ignore it. (BAH! What mother actually listens to this advice?) Anyhow, right after that there's a shadow box about head banging. (Page 100 if you have the book.) It says ( Read more... )

Hun, you know me well enough now to know I'm an attached mom. And trust me, Anna-Lee was the QUEEN of the headbangers. Including when we lived in a room that had carpet directly on concrete. With no padding. And now she's a perfectly well adjusted 3 year old. No harm, no foul. I think its a way to blow off steam when they're just too young to express emotions in any other way. Some kids hit, some bite, some bang their heads. And they all work through it as they learn to express their emotions in more productive ways.
