Been a while...
So, lately has been the Piled Weeks of Hardware that Doesn't Work and Stuff that Doesn't Belong to Me.

Laptop!!! DAMN YOU!!!
So I bought this laptop less than a year ago to replace my other laptop that was being way too bitchy and expensive to fix (constantly bad power supply). And now, after replacing this laptop's power cord/transformer box twice, the damn hard drive has failed. Less than 2 weeks after my mp3 player's hard drive failed. National ID Card - Fight It! (Yeah, there's info at the end of my rant.)
OK, here's the deal if you haven't heard... the requirements for a national ID got slipped into tomorrow's military spending bill. Very shitty. Here's the thing. I'm no necessarily opposed to a national ID card. I'm not paranoid about that. The troubling part is that it must include (as part of the bill) a machine readable technology.
