You all know how that feels. You know what it's like to get lost in the wires and the code and the design, and you're just building something cool. And then, when it works, when you're looking at an actual physical model of a thing you've been dreaming about for months, maybe longer, maybe your entire life, it's like your whole chest opens up and you can breathe and you can't wipe the smile off your face for a week.

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. Holy God. The whole thing. Yes. Yes and yes and yes. I love how you and Rhod didn't read each other's speeches, but hit on the same ouchy things, and then hit on them different, and GOOD and AWESOME and my words are failing me. BUT YES.

But YAY I am glad you like it. I... had more fun with it than I thought I would, and actually think it doesn't sound half-bad as a speech. There are a few rough spots still, but I think I'd've listened if this had been my commencement speech. Maybe. *grin*

I will make sure to harass you with all of my hare-brained ideas that occur to me at 2AM in the morning. And pester you unrelentingly until you write them. Especially since I can pretend that Tony delivered this at my commencement, which, yes, also sucked. We had some dude who was famous for hating law school and wrote a book about it, and he was kind of obligated to speak if asked because his daughter was a member of our class.

Christ if I can even remember what he talked about.

You realize, if you do that, you're never getting your military AU, right?

And yeah, I think Scott Turow did mine? Kofi Annan did grad school, so that was pretty good. The school-specific speeches were a little better, I think, probably just because they were more applicable. Not that I can even remember who did those. WHATEVER. Tony gave my speeches. I am sticking with that.
