7) A shiisa is a great lion-dog protector! A mythical animal, many people have clay statues of shiisa in front of their homes or businesses in Okinawa (one with mouth open to scare away bad spirits, one with mouth closed to keep in the good spirits). Witness:

they have something similar to that in peru, but instead of a lion-dog it's a ceramic bull that gets perched on your doorway... ^_^
