*FOUND* in books archive

i found this folded piece of paper in a used book at work yesterday...
it's a receipt for rent, from Oct. 1911

the total for rent in "middle flat no 3347 22nd St" (by 22nd and Guerrero)

$25.

This is highly interesting -- I found a big cache of receipts like this walking in Noe Valley once, it was for a law office in the Mills Building around 1920 or so -- cancelled checks and an accounting register that I still have.

i loveeee finding old documents/ writting books/ essays/school papers and then reading them
even if they are only from the 80's its still so interesting to me

I was close friends with a guy who had a used bookstore & it was amazing what he'd find in old books. Nothing nearly THAT old though... I was wondering though, what was the title & copywright date of the book it was in?

i don't recall. it was musty and dusty with a broken spine.. it just fell out of something.
it was in the box of "books destined for the great hereafter"
(meaning the recycling pile)
