I <3 heidi. & giru. X3 *sigh* These 4 member bands. I'm gonna see them the day after tmrw & the next day. *-*
Giru's goods lady is actually their manager, Nakamoto-san. She's slightly older, right? The young one I see never leaves Tokyo. That was so nice of her to exchange your CD. I wish more bands were smart enough to get good staff ppl.
Haven't heard them play Garbage, only Pumpkins, but that's neat :D Haha, if Junji ever manages to join the team, that makes 5... anomaly? Have fun at your two shows!
Yeah, she was probably older than me. So she's their manager eh? I love her now, haha. I was so sure I would need to grovel or something; I was caught so off-guard!
Those two lives sounded fun! I've read a few reports of their Europe tour and now yours--ahhh don't we all wish to see them! *mope mope mope* And I'm getting really interested with heidi., since I think you've mentioned them a few times in the past and now here. They're also in Over The Edge, so they must be worth something. I'll probably check out some of their stuff.
Yeah, I read a few European reports, too. I do wonder what giru's impression of the foreign audience is vs. their home audience. heidi. doesn't get as much recognition with the foreign fanbase (but I think that's changing) but they're doing fairly well here. They're really charming because they know how not to overdo the cute/happy thing. Strangely, they seem to tour with a bunch of heavier bands. Definitely worth checking out!
I find that VK fans outside of the Tokyo/Osaka/Nagoya areas tend to be much nicer. Probably because VK acts seldom come to their city, so they're not as territorial/bitchy.
Your reaction to meth. is the same as mine when I saw them in the summer. Their music is decent enough but it's not 'unique'.
I also get the feeling that MaveRick (Mukuro, at least) desperately wants to jettison it outta VK, but lack the fanbase/industry support. So they're stuck where they are.
giru would definitely have a good-sized male fan showing in Nagoya (compared to Hamamatsu). I wish they'd play a couple older songs (from Reason of crying) but I guess they need to promote their new album first and foremost...
I think that's totally it. The non-Tokyo/Osaka/Nagoya fans are happy just for the bands coming, so it doesn't bother them to be more generous. The craziest fans must reside in Tokyo. D:
I completely agree with your theory on MaveRick/Mukuro. In fact, I find the band more interesting for being an oddball in the scene, rather than for just their music. The problem is, even though VK guarantees you a certain number of fans, it also dooms you forever-- once VK, always VK.
There's so many older songs I wish giru would play...
Dripping ceiling? o_O" I'm glad Nagoya gig was not that hot xDD Maybe Yoshihiko is just such an air-head that he forgets stuff all the time and messes up his MC xD That "bitches love vk" post is funny, why English though? xDDDD
Yeah, bad ventilation, I'm guessing. It was gross, at first I thought the ceiling was leaking, but it wasn't raining that day. XDDD Why does Yoshihiko's terrible memory make him cuter to me? Maybe because I am the same way... hahaha.
I've been told Mukuro lived in the States when he was younger, and I've heard him speak small bits of English with quite a good accent. That's probably where he experienced a lot of that "MUSIC AND CULTURE" XDD. I agree with him to an extent though. Poor guy probably doesn't want to be in vk.
That entry really intrigued me. Well, though Mukuro lived in US his English needs some improvement, but he definitely gets his point across xD The content and the way it was written made me wonder if he actually aimed it at foreign fans and not Japanese ones (they wouldn't really understand it anyway >xD). Maybe he was curious about western fanbase and then just read something that pissed him off on some forum (and sadly there is plenty to be pissed off about >_>), it could have been even something about Maverick. I can't really pity him because if he does not want to be in vk then it's easy, just quit a freaking band and do something he thinks is better >_> That being said I actually listened to their album today and it sounds interesting ^__^ I even found out that they play with Lupo Label on 24.2, I'm curious to see angry Mukuro xDDD
Hmmm... I never thought of it that way! I assumed he was writing in English because he didn't want to alienate his Japanese fans completely.... but you're right, maybe it was about a foreign fan. It's dated 1/31, so I wonder if it was about something that happened during a live...? It wouldn't be surprising if it were a foreign fan, because some of them are just as bad as the Japanese ones.
I don't actually know if he hates vk or whatever, but I get the vibe that he wants to bring something "more" to the genre. Anyway, I definitely think he's an interesting guy. I'd go see them again if they were playing with someone good.
