"Lorna?" he was surprised to see her, and even more surprised to hear her talking to the students Erik had left to guard him. It wasn't that he didn't believe she could hold her own, it was just such an odd situation for them to all be in. He still wasn't used to this universe.

She held up her hand in a wave. "Brought you food and some clothes," she said with a small smile. "Make sure these two are treating you well. Can I come in?"

"Yeah," he replied, smiling. "Yeah, I'm sorry, come in." He hadn't even realized he'd left her standing in the doorway because of the shock of seeing her.

"They all have to treat me well because I'm wearing his body," Alex added bitterly. He knew it was the only reason he was still alive.

She squeezed his arm gently as she passed. She set the tray on the bedside table before sitting on the bed.

"They're treating you well because they know how important you are." She smiled at him. "But also because no matter what version you are of Alex, your'e still one of us. We're not the Shadowking's people. We take care of each other as best we can."

She gestured to the food. "Eat. I tried to get his favorites. I hope they're yours too."
