"Hey, doc," Jack greeted, stepping into the infirmary. He was pretty sure he was going to be cleared for duty today. Physically, he felt well enough. It was the mental and emotional components he wasn't too sure of. But they couldn't afford to have people not working. "How do you want me?" he joked, glancing around at the beds-- much emptier now than they had been a few days ago.

Carson grinned at his friend's teasing. "On a bed," he teased back. "Pick a bed and we'll get started."

"You said the magic words, doc," Jack said, picking a bed well-away from the door, just to be safe. He didn't know what Carson and he might end up discussing, but he didn't want it accidentally overheard.

Carson followed Jack to the exam room and pulled the curtain for privacy. "Okay then. I want you to tell me how your feeling." He already had a good idea but wanted to hear it for the record.

"Physically, I feel fine," Jack answered. "Head's better. No pain or bleeding anywhere. Been sleeping okay most nights." He shrugged.
