Rodney sighed and rolled his eyes. "The city of Atlantis is going to make us all happy and better people," he trot out, bored, like he cited poems back at school. He wasn't in the mood for crap like that. Things wouldn't miraculously get better just because you believed they would. The situation was pretty much fucked up in every respect and all they could do was to try to make the best of it. He just hated pep-talk.

Rodney sulked as she suppressed a smile. He'd hoped to upset her, somehow he'd felt like that would lift his spirits. But she just took it with humour and brushed it off. "Yeah, whatever," he said with a shrug.
