She'd checked and recalibrated twelve power juncture boxes today, and was just finishing her thirteenth when she heard the quiet sound of the transporter doors opening. Assuming it was someone with business in the jumper bay, as there'd been a lot of coming and going there today, she continued replacing the cover plate.

Finally, the jumper made it to the city and the autopilot took over, lowering them down slowly. She wrinkled her brow as the HUD popped up, showing another live jumper in the bay. "Why would Heightmeyer leave her jumper running?" she asked no one in particular.

"I don't know," Adam said. "She's not the type to forget to turn it off. Something must have happened."
He swallowed, and told himself to stay calm. He was worried for her, but it wouldn't do any of them good, if he let his feelings for her get the better of him. After all, there might be a simple explanation for that.
And in case something was wrong, they still had the P-90s, Adam thought. They'd stashed them in the back of the jumper, useless to carry them around while moving the Athosians' belongings.
