The group all stayed close to Radek and Doran until they had to divide at the two jumpers. Kalana followed her group into Christoph's ship, keeping an eye on the children. Harju, as always, presented Challat with a challenge, but Osera stayed close to her mother, which was good, since Risan held her cousin's child, Dessa, asleep in her arms. Seeing ( Read more... )

"Ah," he said, nodding. "Let me know how that works out." He smiled. He wasn't going to say anything to involve himself at this juncture, but it was something he had thought about. He always knew he wanted children eventually, feeling not only a sense of family pride but also a duty to pass on his genes. The Athosians, perhaps even more than humans from Earth, may fit in with his plans. But it's not a decision he would take lightly.

He shook his head. "No, actually. It would have to be a conscious effort on my part and I never got around to it." He shrugged and smiled to himself. "It's something I would like to do in the future, when the time is right."

He glanced at Kalana then back at the view ahead. "How about yourself? Would this be your first?"

He sensed the hesitation in her tone and thought better than to inquire about said 'unfortunate' luck. "Well, I do wish you the best this time around." He checked his position on the displays relative to the other Jumpers, as he pondered his next question. "I know Ridley's become very close with the Athosians. I'm sure he'd be happy to father your child. Perhaps few Lanteans would be so eager, but I don't see why not."
