Aiden pulled the travois into the clearing, eyes never stopping in their search for potential threats even as he moved forward. His eyes took in the signs of previous tracks, recent signs of other refugees, but he could see no one in the clearing ( Read more... )

"Yes Major." He responded.

Chuck pressed each of the buttons and watched as the Chevrons locked in to place. This was taking him away from his comfort zone, but he understood that right now they needed all the help they could get.

"At least this stops me wandering round like a restless animal." he thought as the gate engaged with the familiar Kwoosh.

As he watched the puddle establish itself he said, "We're good to go Major."

The jumper slipped forward automatically and into the wormhole. The next thing John knew, they were emerging from the puddle with the jungle right there and he was too busy with gaining altitude and activating the cloak to pay any attention to the life signs readouts.

Dr. Ben Abrams glanced with alarm at the seemingly implacable Athosian at his side when Ford ordered them to get down. He knew he'd been foolish to hope, knew that the demented, nearly raving young marine couldn't really have it that together. He didn't really know the address to Hoff, and now, surely this must be the Wraith. Who else would be coming here, to this godforsaken place?

He was going to die here; he'd known it from the start.

Aiden blinked, then whooped loudly with a real smile stretching his lips and sparkling in his eyes for the first time since he'd been taken.

"Now that's a Hail Mary!" he shouted, the sight of the puddle jumper maneuvering up lifting a weight he hadn't realized rested in his belly as they'd traveled. "We're going home!"

Benjamin stumbled, sitting hard on the ground when the puddle jumper appeared above the gate platform.

"Oh my god..." he whimpered, "Oh my god..." It had to be a hallucination, just like the others. It was all going to turn bad in a minute; it had to... But Ford, crazy Ford was yelping like his team had won the Series. "Oh my god..." Abrams said again, and felt the hot tears on his cheeks.
