Tim arrived at the jumper bay and started his pre-flight checks while he waited for the other members of the mission to arrive. He’d been able to get there early enough or maybe other folks were running late, either way he was nervous. His feelings stemmed entirely from Parrish and the Athosians. Adam walked into the jumper bay, a couple minutes too early. He'd had a quick snack with Kate in the mess hall, which had considerably brightened his mood. Kate had been a bit quiet, and he wasn't sure if it was due to his mission or to the meetings she had scheduled with patients that afternoon. Fortunately this mission was a walk in the park - compared to yesterday's mission.

He found Lt. Miller checking the jumper as he moved closer. "Hello," he greeted with a grin. "Are you early or am I late?" he asked jokingly.

Tim did give Stackhouse a grin in response. "I'd say we're both on time," he answered with good humor. He was trying to control his nerves and joking with the other soldier was helping. "You up for this?" he asked as he continued his check.

Adam rolled his eyes. "Babysitting a couple of geeks and Athosians?" he asked, then laughed. "Well, I think I should be."

Tim managed to keep the smile on his face when Stackhouse mentioned the Athosians. He wasn't sure that the Athosians wouldn't out him on the mainland but other then that it would be great. "Yeah, a walk in the park," he said.

Adam sat down in the co pilot's chair and with a thoughtful expression trailed his fingers over the console. Not that he really envied the other man for having the gene. He wondered what it would be like to have it.

"What's it like to have the gene?" he asked.
