Jack spent the afternoon paging through reports, reading various studies on the wraith-- even some of the scientific ones, though he had a good idea that a report on the effects of wraith feeding on fetuses would pose no possible tactical advantage. Carson gave one last look over the infirmary to make sure he'd not forgotten anything before heading to Jack's room. He'd given standing orders to his staff and felt confident that all would be well until the next morning.

Walking into Jack's room, Carson asked with a tired smile, "Ready to break out?"

Jack gave Carson a grin, even as he felt a twinge of concern at the fatigue and something more in Carson's eyes. "You bet, doc." He sat up carefully. There were certain angles that hurt a little less. "The quarters with the tub are three doors east and across the hall from you. If they had a balcony, I'd seriously consider stealing them."

Carson moved over to Jack's side to offer his assistance. "The tub does sound wonderful and just maybe if nobody takes it, I might pop over for a soak," he said, truly considering the idea. A good soak might just be what the doctor ordered. "Although, I do understand your need for a balcony and one of these days you'll have to show me the stars."

Jack slung an arm over Carson's shoulder as he slid off the bed. "You should. Explore the night sky. Good stuff. Ow." He grimaced and shifted his stance.

Carson slid his arm around Jack's waist in an effort to provide extra support and let his friend lean on him as much as he needed. "Not so fast lad, its not a race," he said in response to Jack's acknowledgment of pain. "We can go as slow as you need and I would very much like to relax under the stars," he said, not releasing his hold just yet.
