Before Rodney was able to give Radek an adequate reply, he was called on the radio. Throwing Radek a hostile glance, he received the call.

Rodney bit back a grumpy: "Sure, cause I have nothing better to do than to wait for you to have ideas to call me away from work." He clenched his teeth and drew a deep breath. Maybe it was better to leave Radek alone for a bit until things calmed down. "You're still in the infirmary or did you manage to escape Carson yet?"

"He let me out of the cage for the day," John answered, noting that Rodney sounded less than delighted right now. "I've got to get my laptop from where I left it in my office, so I thought we could meet there," he suggested as he headed for the transporter.

Despite his recent fight with Radek, Rodney grinned at Sheppard's reply. "I'll be there in ten," he said, then ended the call. On the way to the transporter he noticed he forgot his thermos. So he made a detour via the mess to get another mug, then he headed for Sheppard's office.

It had been a productive day so far, Elizabeth thought. She'd caught up with several people at breakfast, and it seemed that the general mood of the city was improving. After breakfast she'd come back up to her office to make some inroads into the stacks of paperwork she had waiting for her, and had made good progress when Sheppard called.

"Perfect timing," she said on reply to his meeting suggestion. "I was just ready for a break. I'll be down in five minutes."

John arrived outside his office, still surprised for a moment to see Evan's dark before the realisation hit once again. Before he could dwell on it, he went inside and began shifting some things off the desk so there would be room for Elizabeth and Rodney to use it as well.

He sat down and ran a hand through his hair. He needed a shower and a shave, but it would wait till after the meeting. He didn't intend to take long, but wanted to get things going. This had waited too long as it was.
