Hi, your friendly mod here.

After our first challenge and voting, I just want to clear some things up, to avoid confusion and discomfort for all of us.
I'm so sorry for not posting this in the beginning/ in the rules :(

Regarding the special categories of best ornament and tiny text use, how will you decide when to use them as voting categories? I imagine only very few icons at a time will employ them. So for that one person who made all their icons use ornaments or tiny text (I say this because there are weeks I get lazy and my icons are essentially the same), the reward has basically been handed to them by default.

I realize it's a special category, but in reality, those two categories use rare techniques. So I'm curious how you plan to wotk them in, especially if the special categories are unknown until voting. :/

I'll just have to wait and see, basically :)
But I noticed if I put Best Use of Tiny Text last voting, we'll have six challengers for that category. *grins*

I guess it could work. I was also thinking because I don't have PS and my program doesn't take kindly to making text like 1 pt. Or just fool people and hope they don't notice my foe tiny text IS foe tiny text. XD I also don't have ornaments but I suppose I could always use my tablet and pen tool and make my own.

But I'm rambling, and they ARE special categories.

Anyways! So if there's a minimum of like, what, 1/2, 1/4, 1/3 of the contestants, then you'll select it as a special category? Sorry, it's just that when I was a mod my special categories were strictly basics (color, crop, comp, most unique, and best interpretation) and so I'm just a little curious how it's going to work when they will be excluding some icons.

There's a lot of tiny text brushes out there ;) And it counts.

And best ornament means the icon that utilizes text, texture, AND brush the best. It's like best composition, but more focused on those three.

I know, this categories will be hard to make do with, but I will take consideration of the icons submitted before choosing one, and not just pick them randomly. And if the icons don't fit the requirements of one category; I won't force it to be awarded, and there will probably a lot of voting that use 'best crop, color, comp/interpretation' for three consecutive weeks or more.

Very possible. Why not? It takes skill, time, and brilliant composition to add those seemingly innocent tiny text.
