We had a fabulous voting turnout! I'm thinking that 15-20 votes is the optimal number, as that's about what I get over at avatar_hush, too. It was really close for some icons, but the last-minute votes worked those out ^^

I haven't finished reading all the comments for the icons yet, but I wanted to say:
The quality of these comments is amazing. I'm part of many LIMS, and these are some of the most well-thought out and longest comments I've ever received.

:) That's good to hear~ I'm one of those people who leaves novel-length critiques, heh. But that's just 'cause I'm wordy like that XD I'm not part of any other LIMS, so I'm not sure how long the comments usually are o_o The ones at ff_kh_battle look to be about the same length as most of these, though.

*shrugs* maybe it's just the LIMS I participate in. Usually the critiques I get are fairly short (though accurate)
These were ones I received recently:
"-this is lovely, but the image looks a little washed out
-The colouring is awkward and the texture overpowers the icon."

They're helpful critiques, because the icon was too washed out.

To take the first critique here, however:
"The font doesn't go with the subject. This font seems like it would go with a more fun or playful icon, not a spiritual one."
At most LIMS, I would expect something saying 'the font doesn't fit' Here, however, the commenter explains more in-depth on why the font doesn't fit, which is more helpful.

The positive votes were also much, much, much more in-depth then I've seen before (except for one animanga-lims one, where I got like a half-page comment ¬¬;;)

To take an example from the second icon:
"I like the simplicity of the icon-there aren't any textures, but the starkness of the black against the foreground helps bring out the subjects. Very nice typography (though

LOL. Now that last + one made me giggle. XDDD And man, it's hard to believe that animanga_lims is coming to a close. I came in too late to sign up, but wow, I was so overwhelmed with the first voting post. There were some 70 or 90 icons, huh? And now it's down to the last 10 *g*;;

Lol, yeah, while I was copying and pasting all the critiques, I was really amused at how different people viewed the same aspect of the icon in totally different ways. :)

It was quite hard to choose what three really worked and what two didn't this week. Some icons were simply meh where they were neither spectacular or so far removed from the theme that they didn't work at all. I find myself looking at the more detailed critiques given, either as comments or in the negative, and wonder if some are truly wanting to help or if they're saying things based on personal preferences.

Oh, and helium_lost? I LOVE the way you organized this page. It's very nice and clean, plus easy to navigate. :D Any idea on when the next challenge will be up, though?

Heehee, I love scrolling divs. x3 They let me organize lots of things in a little amount of space. And I'm working on the next challenge at the moment, attempting to fit everyone/every point change in XD;;

Err, can you direct me how the points work? This won't be giving away my icon because so many icons got 4 points overall; but how do the points add up? Say (this isn't correct, but hypothetically) I got 3 positive votes and 1 negative vote; so wouldn't that be 7 because you add the 3 to the original 5 and subtract 1 or no....? *ish confused*

Anyway, again, as the other icon makers have said, the comments are verrry helpful and so sweet, I love the fact that the comments were long and very descriptive as to tell me what they loved (or didn't) about my icon. ♥
