I don't know (and am too lazy to check) how the votes distribute here, but I'm finding that curving the results doesn't make too much of a difference in the end.
Also, putting iconmakers into groups produces a ton of ties, but I don't think it would make as many as your current system.

Oh, I wanted to add: I loved the story :)

The top four favorites are awarded points in the order +3, +2, +1, +0; the two least favorites have points taken away in the order -3, -2; everyone else gets -1. ^^; People said they didn't like the -1 deal, so I'm thinking of changing that somehow.

Speaking of which, I'll have that finished, hopefully, tomorrow XD Epilogue and everything @_@

Yay, can't wait to read it!

I think the thing about the '-1' is that it doesn't matter how you placed, as long as you aren't in the top 4 or the bottom 2 you loose points; so the class system is a little more fair in that respect.
(the negative system mimics the '-1', though, right?)

Yeah XD; The negative system, as far as I understand it, is kind of like the -1, but a little more fair. For example, let's say that 20 people submitted; the top three people and the bottom two people get their points total changed, while everyone else keeps the same number of points, but gets a "negative" based on how they ranked (like #4 would get negative 1; #5, negative 2; etc.). The negatives don't affect your points total, but after a certain number of rounds (let's say 3), the three people with the highest number of negatives get automatically eliminated. In addition to that, I think tsubasa_battle has it that every couple rounds or so, everyone with more than eight negatives automatically gets a point subtracted from their total.

Sorry for the hunkuva comment @_@

I think this round was a little shaky at first simply because it was the first round, but I think it settled pretty well in the end, and things are pretty good. If you think changing the points system a bit would improve things, I say go for it. It sounds fair, and if it works for other lims, it should work for this one too. :)

Like I suggested before, maybe in the final battles between iconmakers there should be some sort of sudden death round to determine the winner if there is a tie or if someone only won by one vote.

Honestly, it kind of sucks to make it so far and then be knocked out because of one more vote. ^^ And a sudden death round would lengthen the process, but in the end I really think it would be more fair. In the sudden death round, however, if someone loses by one vote than that's it. They lose.

I personally don't think posting icons during the process is as fun because then you can find out which character is which person... I think it's more fun not know.

I think the negative system could be good.. maybe with just the bottom people losing points and middle people remain the same.
