Well, the most recent update in the TOS of YouTube did cause quite a stir, to the point that there are now petitions going around. And here's where I cannot help but think what corporate **** Google is pulling here

A few details on something though, if I may inquire.... does this mean that YT is adding additional marks to uploaded videos to identify them by age-viewing group intended?
I did notice some very weird happenings a few weeks ago when YT asked me to sign in just to watch a cartoon! Maybe this is a part of what was starting to happen....
I don't think addition marks are planned: There is an additional setting to "rate" the content, which has always(ish) been there.
Again, requiring sign in on stuff that is not "exclusively for kids" is a bit of a drag, but IMHO acceptable.
My real gripe is that it would completely strip the comment feature as well as other things that I like about the platform. And that is clearly a spite reaction of Google, cause there is no real reason to do that. I think this can go down in the history books as another example of a corporation using their influence to manipulate the law makers by proxy.
eeep.. Yeah, if they remove 'commenting' that would be a gigantic mistake. They have already removed private messaging, so that was a loss, but at least people can still have comment discussions. If they remove that "interaction", the flavor of the site will change drastically... and I don't know if it could sustain. At that point, I think there would be a very good chance of a competitor coming and wiping Y.T. out There's already the option of screening comments until approved, so it would be better if they just did more of that than removing them entirely.
