It may well have been me who recommended WIllis, since I laughed various body parts off reading [i]Dog[/i]. [i]Doomsday Book[/i] is in the same academic time-travel setting, still excellent, but the tone is, ah, completely different.
If you're looking for another intelligent, witty book about time travel and its consequences…well you know what? It's been a while since I posted a reading list over on my LJ, so I'm going to do that now.
strephon is also a big fan of Willis, so the recommendation might have come from him. He's the one who got me to read Dog, for which I thank him. I'm working on Doomsday Book right now, but I took a pause about 3/4 of the way through from being in entirely the wrong frame of mind to continue.
