This was an amazing journey, and the ending was completely worth the wait. I enjoyed the chapter with the diary entries, there is something special about this writing style, you make up your mind about the things that happened between the entires and use the them as guidelines. Also, journal entries always sound so final and ultimate, I like that.
I love the similarities between Pear/Abel and Cameron/House, they were subtle but yet so prominent, and the ending was very House, very in character and I agree, House doesn't have to change to be with someone he loves, and he could find what happiness means for him with the woman he loves.

Long comment, sorry *lol*

This was well worth the wait. I love the way this turned out. I love the similarities between House/Cameron and Abel/Pearl.

You write so beautifully that I could see all of this in my head as I read it.

"Because... I'm tired of waiting."
So true.

I don't care what TPTB at House say....House and Cameron are fated to be together. Blame Hugh and Jen and their intense chemistry or the way the characters were written at the beginning of the series. Either way, you wrote what should happen because Cameron was the only one who understood him and accepted him; House always treated her with gentleness and respect. You captured that perfectly.

This! This! This! She never tried or wanted to change him, they are simply perfect for each other...

Wonderful ending! Thank you for this amazing story!

I totally agree about House/Cameron and their chemistry, the way they were written at the beginning of the show. Nothing will ever convince me that they didn't get rid of JMo because of that chemistry. How could they ever sell another pairing as long as she was there? They couldn't. They still didn't succeed after they got rid of her, so that's some consolation.

I read some interview with Shore recently where he said he wished he hadn't done some things on the show, but wouldn't admit what they were because he didn't want to fuel the fire. I'd bet anything that letting JMo go was one of those things.

Thanks again for your kind words. &hearts

Nice ending and great story overall! I'm happy House decided to stop waiting and Cameron did not give up on him. I hope there will be more stories soon from you!

Thank you. Part of what took me so long on this one is that I started another story and got very caught up in it. I'm over 26,000 words in and not done yet. Heh! I'm going to finish it, edit it, and then I will begin posting it. I hope there will still be a House/Cameron audience by the time I'm done, otherwise I will just keep the story to myself. But since I'm really enjoying the writing of it, it's all good.

I loved so much the story of Pearl and the Captain. It was very interesting and captivating.
I guess in the end House started to think about his relationship with Cameron and realized he doesn't want to miss out on anything with her. Like the Captain did with Pearl not telling her how he really felt in the beginning and then later, when she went to Scotland and he stubbornly stayed at home.

Thank you so much for sharing this story with us :) <3

I agree with the others, this was totally worth the wait. I was actually just thinking about this story a couple of days ago, remembering how much I fell in love with it and wondering if you were still working on it. And then I saw the last two chapters posted today and I got a huge grin on my face.

This story feels bittersweet, yet comforting. Like wrapping up on a cold winter's evening in an old, worn quilt made by the dearly-loved grandmother who passed away some years ago. I think this is now officially my favorite House/Cameron fic.

Almost forgot to add: Regarding the author's notes, I ♥ you SO MUCH for putting so much thought into the little details. I just love it when a story's ending ties everything up and relates it back to the beginning.
